Description de la formation
The CAS in Global Health Diplomacy is worth 15 ECTS and is composed of three modules.
Module 1: Global Health Diplomacy
This module is mandatory for all participants. It provides insights into today’s landscape of global health diplomacy, organisations and stakeholders involved, venues, instruments and processes. It encompasses the analysis of the dynamics of recent negotiations and highlights current thematic priorities in global health.
This module extends over a period of 5 days and can be attended either in English or in French (every second year):
- Executive Course in Global Health Diplomacy
- Formation de haut niveau "Diplomatie et Santé" (exclusively in French)
Module 2: Two Thematic Tracks
Participants are offered the choice to further build their knowledge in the field of global health and choose between one of the following two tracks:
- Track 1: Global Health Instruments and Participatory Processes
- Track 2: Negotiating Intellectual Property and Trade for Global Health
Module 3: Elective Topics of Specialization
Participants have the opportunity to explore other issues linked to global health diplomacy, through the choice of two specialised courses among those on offer each year. The list of available specialised courses is regularly updated to follow ongoing global health debates.
Objectifs
- Understand the system and method of global health diplomacy and the importance of governance for health
- Develop knowledge on the political determinants of health and engage in related cross-cutting themes
- Learn about instruments, actors and venues of global health diplomacy in a changing international context
- Enhance negotiation skills and practice strategic thinking in policy making on global health
Admission
Conditions d’admission
Participants should be:
- a bachelor's degree or equivalent working experience
- currently a mid- or senior professionals in one of the above mentioned institutions
- directly or indirectly involved in health-related programme activities but with specific experience in negotiations at the national, regional and international levels
- able to speak/write/read English fluently
Audience
The target audience includes decisions makers and representatives from governments, international organisations, global health initiatives and other stakeholders in global health, such as civil society, foundations, private sector, networks and alliances.
