Objectives

  • Review and develop knowledge in immunology and microbiology
  • Learn about the characteristics of registered vaccines, their mechanism of action and how they were developed
  • Understand new trends and technologies in vaccine translational research
  • Study the vaccine development process, from discovery to registration and launch
  • Understand resistance to vaccine use, and current approaches to increase their acceptance
  • Learn how vaccines are made available to populations at risk and how vaccine safety and efficacy is assessed in the field during the post-marketing phase
  • Learn how projects are managed and how to work in a collaborative way using information technologies with a minimum of face-to-face contact

This course is granted 60 ECTS credits.

Plan de la formation

IMVACC is constituted of four modules of online content, activities and assessments and a master thesis:

  • Module 1: Vaccines & Vaccine sciences
  • Module 2: Vaccine development
  • Module 3: Vaccines & Public health
  • Module 4: Project & time management

Admission

Conditions d’admission

  • Master in sciences (MSc) or doctorate in human or veterinary medicine, biology or pharmacy
  • Master in theoretical or applied sciences (MSc) with experience in microbiology, immunology, epidemiology or biomedicine
  • Bachelor in sciences (BSc) with at least three years of full-time professional experience in microbiology, immunology, epidemiology or biomedicine

Groupe cible

IMVACC is open to physicians, veterinarians, researchers and health professionals actively engaged in professional life and who live and work in geographically dispersed clinical and research facilities.
