Débouchés

Doktorat / PhD

(Dr. phil.)
Following the Master course – if at least the grade 5 was achieved in the diploma – a research study programme can be completed. It allows students to intensify their earlier studies, grow into autonomous scientific reasearch and create in form of a dissertation a contribution to research on their own. The research study programme is ended with a promotion (Dr. phil.), consisting of a dissertation in the chosen subject and an oral examination. For the promotion or doctorate, the third study cycle, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences has a graduate school on offer, which is a flexible and intensely supervised programme. Students who apply for a doctorate are automatically members of the graduate school and may use its course offer as well as supporting opportunities. Prospect doctorate students can find more detailed information on the website:  unilu.ch > Fakultäten > Kultur- und Sozialwissenschaftliche Fakultät.
