Dual-track VET and mobility
Unlike many other education systems, the Swiss system requires young people to make an important decision by the end of lower-secondary school: whether to pursue further scholastic education or Vocational Education and Training (VET) at upper-secondary level.
It is, however, always possible for young people to change their minds once they have started out on either pathway, regardless of their initial choice. Obtaining any qualification opens up a range of possibilities for further education and training.
