Description de la formation

The Short Advanced Studies cover partition schemes, analysis of partition tables and filesystems, and tools like The Sleuth Kit and Autopsy. Students learn to recover deleted data, use hashsets and NSRL, extract slack space and unallocated blocks, carve unstructured data, and decrypt filesystems and directories.

Topics:

  • Overview of partition schemes (MBR, GPT)
  • Identification and analysis of partition tables
  • Identification and analysis of filesystems
  • Using The Sleuth Kit (TSK) and Autopsy
  • Recovering deleted files and deleted partitions
  • Using hashsets and the NSRL databases
  • Extracting slack space and unallocated blocks
  • Carving unstructured data
  • Decrypting filesystems and directories

Admission

Conditions d’admission

Degree from a university or higher professional education (HF, federal diploma).  Professional experience in the field of cyber security / forensics.

Target Audience

  • Experienced forensic investigators who want to increase their technical skills in digital forensics and cyber investigations.
  • Experienced engineers and technicians who want to transition into the field of digital forensics and cyber investigations.

The course offers the opportunity to take a final exam which will provide the student with 3 ECTS or 40 CPE credits for subsequent CAS or MAS degrees in Digital Forensics & Cyber Investigation.
