Objectifs
Aim of Occupational Medicine (OM):
- Evaluating and diagnosing health hazards in the workplace Advising companies and organizations on improving workplace safety and preventing occupational injuries and diseases
- Recommending appropriate interventions and adjustments in the workplace to help people with health problems stay at work
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including minimizing and eliminating work-related health hazards
- Engaging in target-orientated interdisciplinary cooperation with other specialists in the field of work and health
Aim of Occupational Hygiene (OH):
- Surveying and monitoring new substances and deriving possible occupational health risks and safety procedures
- Assessing actual exposures in employees’ daily work and taking proper action
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including minimizing and eliminating work-related health hazards
- Working together with other specialists in the field of work and health to maintain worker health
The DAS as an academic grade stands for „Diploma of Advanced Studies“. The Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) is a continuous education grade. In Switzerland, a DAS reflects 30 ECTS credits, equaling minimum of 900 hours of student’s workload.
Plan de la formation
The Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) in Work+Health integrates the specializations Occupational Medicine (OM) and Occupational Hygiene (OH). The interdisciplinary DAS Work+Health program consists of both common modules and specialization modules.
Common Modules:
- C1: Introduction to the field of work and health
- C2: Determinants of occupational diseases and work-related health problems
- C3: Occupational Toxicology
- C4: Human factors and ergonomics
- C5: Occupational health in context of organizations and society
- C6: Human factors and analysis of health risks
- C7: Occupational health interventions
- C8: Targeted communication in the context of work and health
- C9: Biosafety
- C10: Evaluation of occupational health inverventions
- C11: Interdisciplinary project work
Specialization modules:
- Occupational Medicine
- Occupational Hygiene
Interdisciplinary group project
Admission
Conditions d’admission
Admission to the program requires
- Master's degree and professional experience, or
- Bachelor's degree with specific professional experience or an equivalent qualification (individual, case-by-case admission)
Public cible
Physicians, engineers, natural scientists, social scientists and humanists with experience in the field of work and health or human resource development.
Coûts
- CHF 22'000.-
- Single modules: CHF 680.- per day

The DAS is a joint program of the University of Zurich and the University of Lausanne.
Accreditation:
- For students specializing in Occupational Medicine, the DAS ist acknowledged to achieve the FMH title in Occupational Medicine
- For students specializing in Occupational Hygiene, the DAS ist acknowlededged to achieve the occupatioal hygienist in Switzerland
- For students specializing in Organizational Health Development, the DAS is acknowledged as continuous education by the Swiss Association of Psychologists (FSP)
