Description

Description de la formation

The Master of Science in Medical Biology degree is intended for students who are interested in biological research in the medical field.

This Master's program focuses on the acquisition of key areas of expertise necessary for the development of new pre-clinical and clinical medical applications. This training gives students an in-depth knowledge of basic cellular functions, systems that transmit signals inside and among cells, human biology, and the normal and pathological functioning of the most important systems of the human organism.

Considerable attention is also paid to learning and applying techniques used in medical biology, as well as to personal research work.

Studies description

The first semester (30 ECTS) provides an introduction to human biology in the broad sense. Topics range from basic cellular functions and signal transmissions to the function of organs, in physiology and pathology.

The second semester (30 ECTS) is dedicated to specialisation and students choose a study path among the four options available:

Students can also obtain the animal experimentation certification or the good clinical practice certification. They will then perform a grant writing exercise on the topic of your Master research project, to prepare them with the experimental work that follows.

The third and fourth semesters (60 ECTS) are dedicated to the completion of the Master research project

For more informations, see the study plan.

The master's degree represents the second university degree after the bachelor's degree and is generally equivalent to the acquisition of 90-120 ECTS credits.

1 ECTS credit corresponds to approximately 25-30 hours of work.
